PreK/K Class - July 24/25

Parents,

this last weekend the PreK/K class studied the important lesson, I will be Happy because God Loves Me! The bible lesson was out of 2 Samuel 5:1-4, 7:8-9 and also Psalm 57:7-10. Although, the title uses the word happy, I would like to change it to Joy. There is a difference, and Pastor John eluted to it this last weekend with the sermon to the "adult crowd" upstairs. Pastor John, teaching out Philippians, talked about having Joy in difficult situations and trust God that He is in control (watch sermon here).

So how do you teach a 4 yr old about Joy? As the biggest influencer in their life, you, the parent can model JOY. How do you react to circumstances, are you only happy when good things are happening? They are watching...

Take some time this week the review these passages and talk to your child about the difference between happiness and joy and what gives you joy. Take some time and get away, "go smell the flowers". The Family Devotional that was sent home this last weekend has a great activity called Nature Walk - get out, unplug and enjoy God's creation with your family!
