this last weekend in the PreK/K class (soon to be called the African Safari Room) we talked about I Will Do What I Say I Will Do! The Bible video lesson was from 1 Samuel 17:17-52 about famous bible store, David and Goliath. We all love the Rocky or Karate Kid movie themes and this bible story has that but this lesson focused on something else, your word is your honor.
In this story, when David was at the front lines talking to the men in the army, David said, "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?" And then David was summoned to speak to the King and David said the same thing and that he, David, would kill the Goliath.Our children, watch and listen to what we are saying. Are we modeling Christ-like behavior with our action and our mouth. Are we saying one thing and doing another. Its not easy to be a parent, always being watched and listened too. But we have a huge responsibility as parents to represent Christ to our own Kids.
Take some this week and reread this story in 1 Samuel 17:17-52, review the Family Devotional and activities included in the Family Devotional. Have fun with your family this week!
