TO THE KIDS TEAM @Bett

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER...

I wasn’t sure who started the saying “The Dog Days of Summer”, so I Google it…
According to Wikipedia (not really sure how reliable that is?)
The Romans referred to the dog days as diēs caniculārēs and associated the hot weather with the star Sirius. They considered Sirius to be the "Dog Star" because it is the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (Large Dog). Sirius is also the brightest star in the heavens besides the Sun.
The Old Farmer's Almanac lists the traditional timing of the Dog Days as the 40 days beginning July 3 and ending August 11.

For the Kids Ministry at Bettendorf Campus it means lower kid numbers and many teacher substitutions. I’m glad families are going on vacation and spending time together. And I’m tickled to death that teachers are getting substitutes! That shows dedication and commitment to this team and to the families at Heritage. So thanks and keep being dedicated to the team. We (the church) can’t achieve anything without commitment!
Have a great week! Steve
